Dear Bride & Groom,
You've done the planning. You've made the decisions. Now it's time to simply be present — and let me take care of the rest. This guide walks you through how I approach your wedding day, so you know exactly what to expect from the moment I arrive to the moment you walk out together. There are no surprises. Just your story, unfolding exactly as it should.

The Details
Before the energy of the day picks up, I love to start quietly — with the things that made this day yours before anyone else arrived. The rings. The invitation suite. The dress hanging in the light. The small, deliberate choices you made for months that deserve to be remembered too.
If time allows, plan for me to arrive at least two hours before the ceremony so these details can be captured while everything is still calm and in place.

Getting Ready (Groom)
I always begin with the groom. It's a quieter start to the morning — a chance to capture the calm before everything accelerates. If location or timing makes this difficult, we'll carve out a dedicated 10–15 minutes for a brief getting-ready sequence just before the ceremony. Either way, this moment will be preserved.

Getting Ready (Bride)
For the bride, I prefer to arrive at the final stage of hair and makeup — when the anticipation is highest and the most meaningful moments are about to unfold. I'll stay with you through the dress, capturing every quiet exchange, every touch, every glance that happens in that room. If time is tight, we'll find a beautiful spot and make the most of the minutes we have.

First look/Letters Reading
If you've planned a first look, a first touch, or a letter reading, this will be one of the most intimate moments of your entire day. Both of you will be fitted with microphones so every word — every breath — is captured cleanly. I'll work closely with your photographer to make sure we're both positioned perfectly without getting in each other's way. The location matters here, so we'll talk through it in advance to make sure everything is set up for both sound and light.

Bridal Party
As your sole filmmaker, I'll coordinate with your photographer during the bridal party portraits to make sure both sides and the full group are captured on film. By default I focus on group coverage rather than individual portraits — but if there's someone specific you'd love to have a moment with on film, just let me know ahead of time and we'll make it happen.

Ceremony
I'll arrive at least an hour before the ceremony begins to set up cameras, coordinate audio with your DJ or officiant, and make sure everything is in place before a single guest arrives. Both you and your partner will be wearing microphones — your vows will be heard exactly as you said them.
One small but important note: if your officiant or DJ makes any announcements to guests about phones, please ask them to include a reminder not to step into the aisle or obstruct sight lines. It protects the integrity of every frame.

Cocktail Hour
While you're celebrating with your guests, I'll be working — capturing the cocktail hour atmosphere and getting ahead on reception details before the room fills. If the reception space can be ready and accessible during cocktail hour, that extra time makes a real difference in what I'm able to document. I'll also coordinate with your photographer for any bridal party portraits that happen during this window.

Reception
This is where your story gets to breathe. I'll be there for every significant moment — your first dance, the parent dances, toasts, cake cutting, and everything in between. If your coverage hours run close to the end of the evening and there are moments you don't want to miss, just flag it early and we can discuss extending. I'd rather you have everything you need than leave anything behind.

Sunset
If there's an opportunity for sunset footage, I will always take it. That light is unlike anything else and it adds something genuinely cinematic to your film. If you can steal away for even a few minutes during golden hour, it's always worth it. We'll plan this together based on your venue and timeline.

Send-Off
Whether it's sparklers, petals, or simply the people you love lining the path — I'll be there for it. If your coverage ends before the reception does but you still want the send-off captured, we can arrange a planned exit earlier in the evening. Just let me know when we go over your timeline and I'll make sure it's accounted for.
Your only job on your wedding day is to be present.
